Nextgen Encounter 2014

By Simon Woods

On Saturday 17th May, Kensington hosted the first Nextgen youth event!  We had just under 40 young people and their youth leaders join us from churches across the city for what proved to be an exciting time of fellowship, sung worship, interactive prayer and teaching on Jesus and pop culture.  Young people were encouraged to respond to God through a time of  prayer ministry where they could pray with each other or a leader, or through hands on activities like pinning messages to God on a wooden cross.

We had some positive and helpful feedback from those who came and we are looking forward to building upon all that has been achieved by making next year’s Nextgen event bigger and better still, quite possibly in partnership with the South West Gospel Partnership initiative, ‘Solid’ which takes place in November at St Barts church, Bath.
We are really grateful to God for those of you who prayed for us during this event.  It was a busy time leading up to Nextgen and there were definitely challenges along the way, but through His grace we made it!

There are a whole host of roles and jobs required to put on an event like this.  If you would like to serve through this event or commit to praying for us and the young people, please do contact Simon, Anthony or Geoff – thanks!
